Project Background

At Tadiran’s air conditioner production plant, operators were required to manually lift and move heavy AC units between workstations. This process demanded significant physical effort, slowed down the workflow, and posed risks of injury to both employees and products.

Tadiran was looking for a solution that would reduce physical strain on workers, improve production flow and output, minimize the risk of product damage from drops or impacts, and introduce a smart yet user-friendly automation element to the production line.

What is the solution that we have developed for the costumer?

After analyzing the operational environment and production challenges, the Pneumatics and Engineering Division at Yeruham Automation designed and implemented an advanced lifting solution from PIAB – a vacuum-based gripper system for safe lifting and precise handling of heavy AC units between workstations.

The system uses advanced vacuum technology that enables quick attachment, secure lifting, and smooth controlled movement. Employees operate the device effortlessly, maintaining full control without needing physical strength.
