Home / Case Studies / Design and Manufacturing of a Mobile Auxiliary Cart for Electronic Testing Equipment
A custom-engineered solution combining a modular structure, purpose-designed enclosures and ventilation solutions to create a mobile, functional and precisely configured testing workstation.
The Engineering Challenge: Combining Mobility, Protection and Accessibility
For this project, we designed and manufactured a dedicated auxiliary cart for electronic testing equipment, integrating multiple systems and components into a single, stable and mobile unit.
The primary design objective was to create an engineered structure that accommodates testing equipment within a defined and protected workspace, while ensuring convenient access to components, ease of operation and full mobility between workstations.
Our Solution: A Modular Structure Integrating Multiple Technologies
The cart was designed and built using industrial aluminum profiles, which form the system’s main structural framework. The modular design provides a rigid and stable structure, with an internal layout tailored to accommodate the various equipment and integrated systems.
The system incorporates several key components:
• Aluminum Profile Frame: A modular structural framework that provides stability, mechanical strength and flexibility in layout configuration and assembly.
• Transparent Plexiglass Panels: Clear panels that allow visibility of the equipment and processes inside the enclosure, while providing a defined physical protective barrier.
• Aluminum Composite Panels (Alucobond) and Aluminum Sheets: A combination of materials used to create the external enclosure, functional surfaces and structural elements, according to the project’s design requirements.
• Precision CNC Machining: Manufacturing and machining of custom-designed components, openings and precision cutouts required to accommodate the various elements and ensure accurate integration throughout the system.
• Mobility and Operation: Industrial-grade casters enable convenient transportation of the cart, complemented by a control panel and dedicated operating components.
The Result: A Fully Integrated Engineering Solution
The result is a purpose-built engineering cart that combines a modular aluminum profile frame, transparent and solid panels, CNC-machined components, a ventilation system and integrated mobility solutions.
Each component was designed to integrate seamlessly into the overall structure, with careful attention to material compatibility, component dimensions, connections and finishing.
This project demonstrates the capabilities of the Engineering Department at Automation Yeruham to transform an engineering concept into a complete, physical product — from structural design and material selection to machining, fabrication and final assembly of an integrated solution combining profiles, panels and mechanical components.
