Kramor Technologies Ltd., a company specializing in mechanical manufacturing, design, and assembly, approached “Automation Yeruham” to address two challenges with their CNC machine. Known for precision machining, the company sought to improve the loading process of specialized parts for their CNC machine and to find an efficient and convenient solution for holding the collaborative robot (cobot) that loads the parts into the machine. The company’s primary goal was to reduce the need for manual labor and save production time.
After planning meetings with our implementation team, we proposed a customized solution – a vacuum fixture from PIAB. This solution was specifically designed to grip round components and tailored to the client’s exact requirements. The fixture is equipped with polyurethane vacuum cups, allowing for smooth and precise operation of the parts, along with advanced spring mounts that can be adjusted for various sizes and heights.
One of the key innovations in the project was the company’s use of a cobot, which eliminated the need for a human operator to perform the loading. Instead of an employee manually loading the parts, the cobot automatically inserts the processed component. The specialized cart on which the cobot is mounted was designed and built by our profiles and engineering department. The cart consists of aluminum profiles and was customized to meet the client’s specific needs.
The advantages of this project provided the client with significant savings in labor time, reduced human errors, improved production efficiency, and space savings for the cobot and its movement.
