Home / Case Studies / Integrating quality control sensors into a printer that produces meat substitutes
Steakholder, a company specializing in printing and developing plant-based meat substitutes, reached out to us to find a quality control solution that could be integrated into their printer. They have developed a printer that produces legume-based meat, but part of their process requires sterile quality control for the food products produced.
Our company’s experts recommended a combination of BAUMER sensors specifically designed for the food sector. These sensors meet the strictest standards (FDA approved) and were integrated into the printer to perform two main functions: measuring the condition of liquids and solids during the production process and monitoring the products on the conveyor belt. The durability of the sensors within the printer was a decisive factor, as they are exposed to a chemical environment due to daily cleaning of the internal parts, and it was crucial that they could withstand these conditions.
– Quality control without external faults or exposure to contaminants
– Long-term durability and reliability of the sensors within the printer
– Significant savings in production costs through the prevention of rejects
