Design, manufacture and assembly of a vacuum device for lifting various containers

Share

Project Background

A leading multi-national pharmaceutical company reached out to us with a unique request to prepare a manual device for lifting containers directly from a box.

The solution we designed for the customer was a modular device that includes a vacuum surface that operates using vacuum generators.

What is the solution that we have developed for the costumer?

The proposed solution is a modular facility that includes a vacuum surface that operates using “build in” vacuum generators powered by compressed air and a manual operating valve to lift the containers at once. The facility is able to lift for example (as in the photo) 35 containers at one time and move them from place to place. The device integrates with the “Balancer” unit so that the worker does not feel the weight of the surface and can perform the operation more effectively and faster. The facility consists of the following components: – PIAB KENOS vacuum surface – Pneumatic operating valve – Vacuum / pressure watches – Handle for the device – Two profiles for connecting the surface to the handle

Advantages of the solution

  • Ergonomic device, easy to operate and compact
  • Saving the employee’s time, preventing unnecessary injuries and downtime of personnel
  • without emission of heat and radiation
  • The device can be integrated directly on a robotic arm at any stage
  • Suitable for a large variety of products such as jars, containers, cans and more
  • Can be adjusted to diameters of 20-150 mm
  • Requires an air pressure of between 4-6 bar
